Obituary of Almira R. Cardone

BOLTON LANDING: Almira Ruth Cardone (Aumuller), also known at Myra, 82 years old, passed away on February 22, 2024 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Myra was born on November 7, 1941 in New York, NY to the late George and Marie (Higgins) Aumuller.  She lived in Flatbush, Brooklyn with her mother and aunts while her father served in United States Navy in the Pacific Theater.  Upon the end of the war the family moved to Maywood, NJ, where she grew up only a few blocks from her future husband.

Upon graduation from Bogota High School, Myra went to work for Rayco.  On June 8, 1963 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church she married Robert Cardone and they lived in Hackensack, NJ.  Myra’s first son Robert Patrick was born April 12, 1966.  In 1969 the family moved to Ringwood, NJ where they lived for 33 years.  Their second son Christopher Michael was born July 20, 1972. 

Myra enjoyed the lakes and mountains of Ringwood and was an avid tennis player.  She had a very active social life with a wonderful group of friends she remained close with the rest of her life.  Myra and her husband spent their time traveling and enjoying trips with their friends.  Eventually retiring to their house on Lake George, where they spent their time enjoying the lake, boating, skiing and golfing. 

Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband of 55 years Robert L. Cardone and her beloved beagle? Maggie.

Myra is survived by her sons Robert (Nancy) and Christopher (Rebecca) and grandchildren Lily, Bobby, Emma and Juniper.

Friends may call on Myra’s family on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10am to 11am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 7 Goodnow Ave., Bolton Landing, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at 11am.

Interment will take place in Bolton Rural Cemetery this spring.
