Please share a memory of Melanie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

OLMSTEDVILLE: Melanie M. Galusha, 63 years young, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Melanie was born on October 17, 1960, to the late Dennis and Joyce (Britton) Galusha. Following her high school graduation, Melanie quickly entered the workforce after welcoming her first child. Having dabbled in various jobs initially, Melanie found her calling as the Cafeteria Manager at Minerva Central School, where she has dedicated over 25 years of service. Additionally, she has spent over 20 summers working at Camps Baco & Che-Na-Wah, managing laundry and cafeteria duties.

Forty-four years ago, Melanie met the love of her life, Donald Clark, at a local establishment.  Their engagement, spanning an impressive 42 years, stands as a record the longest engagement in history.

Melanie devoted the majority of her time to her responsibilities at the school. However, on the rare occasions when she wasn't working, she found joy in crafting, rescuing stray animals, and above all, cherishing moments with her grandchildren, whom she considered her pride and joy

Besides her parents, meeting Melanie in heaven is her beloved dog, Louis.

Left to cherish her memory is her fiancé, Donald Clark; her children Jan (Anthony) Talarico and David Clark; grandchildren Aradia and Aurora Talarico and Bianca, Juliette, and Esme Clark; siblings Daniel (Laurie) Galusha, Richard (Theresa) Galusha, Robert (Norma) Galusha, Rodney (Loretta) Galusha, and Allison Galusha; along with several nieces and nephews.

Donations in Melanie’s memory may be given to the Minerva Food Pantry, 5 Morse Memorial Hwy, Olmstedville, NY 12857.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
